A bad day or a low day comes from time to time.
Are you having a bad day today?
Just for your information, I’m having a low day (hormonally and physically 😵💫).
So I’m slowly but consistently fighting against this low mood from the morning.
Knowing that it is something that will pass with time is a huge thing for me. So the first thing I do on a low day is thinking and concluding about that. If it’s something that can go away after some time, I feel relieved and I can focus on finding the ways to go through this hard time.
What helps you on a low day?
Do you know that children can have a bad day too?
Well, they are also humans. Their body might not be in a perfect condition sometimes and they might be under stress from unpleasant events in their lives.
So this book, “ It’s Not All Rainbows” are good for both adults and children.
If you are having a bad day and it’s hard to hide from your child, read this book together. And honestly share with your child that you are not having a very good day.
If your child is having a bad day, read this book together and remind her/him that it’s okay to have a bad day and it happens to all of us from time to time.
“It turns out unicorns don’t always have perfect, magical days. And that’s okay”
After reading the book together, think about these.
Think & Share Time
In the book, Kevin went to get a glitter soda, hoping that it would help him feel better.
Let’s think about things that can make you feel better on a bad day.
- What’s your favourite drink?
- What’s your favourite food?
- What’s your favourite shirt?
- What’s your favourite song?
- What’s your favourite play?
- What’s your favourite movie?
Choose one of your favourite things and have it!
Also, Kevin found other unicorns who were feeling the same way as him and talked to them. Share your feelings with people you like!
