Easter Family Activities - Everyday Funday

A week until Easter! We want to play with some Easter-related stuff, right?!

(Shhh….. we will decorate real Easter eggs next week.) For this week, I suggest playing with paper Easter eggs. Huh? Paper Easter eggs? What are they?

As you know, I love incorporating letters in the play, so I made Easter eggs with letters on.

What you can do with these Alphabet Easter Eggs

This week, I want to introduce activities that the whole family can do together.

Easter Egg Hunt

Print out the Alphabet Easter Eggs (A to Z)
Tip: If you want to print out the eggs once and use them again and again, you can laminate them before use.
Cut them out; Use it as a scissor practice time. And doing the same task together as a family can strengthen the family bond.
Choose one person and that person hides the eggs in the house.
Other family members go around the house and find the eggs. (If you have little baskets or containers, use them to carry the eggs.)
Once all the eggs are found, you can take another round with a different hider.

Easter Egg Game

Spread the Alphabet Easter Eggs on the floor.
Tip: If your child has just started learning about letters and 26 letters are too much, start with the half of alphabet – A to M – first.
Prepare a basket or plate to put the eggs – one for each person.
A player will choose an egg on the floor that s/he wants to have. S/he can have it if s/he can think of any word that starts with that letter on the egg.

Let’s say the player wants to have the egg with letter D.

S/he can say “delightful” and take the egg to her/his basket/plate.

If the player wants to have the egg with letter U, s/he can say “unique” and take the egg to her/his basket/plate.

Everyone takes one turn at a time.
Tip: Tell your child the sound of the letter, so s/he can think of a word easily.
When all the eggs are taken, count each person’s eggs in the basket/plate. Say the name of letters as well, so your child can practice them one more time.

Tip: If your child is not familiar with the sounds of letters yet, just ask to say the name of letters to take an egg.

Tip: If your child knows the name of letters and you want to start teaching the sound of letters, get the Alphabet Affirmation Card and start teaching some meaningful words related to the sound of each letter.
