In Ontario, Canada, the third Monday of February is Family Day.

Is there a special day for family in your region, too?

It’s cool to have a special day for family every year because family is important in our lives, right?

Today, I’m showing you a Family Day activity.

Art with Family Photo

Materials

• Family photos
• Construction paper / plain white paper
• Popsicles sticks
• Liquid glue
• Scissors
• Crayons/markers

How To

1) Put out some family photos and ask your child which one s/he likes the most.

✦ (You can ask why and have a conversation there, too! 😃)

2) Tape or glue the photo that your child chose on a construction paper.

3) Ask your child to build a house around the photo.

You can use anything you have at home.

Some of my ideas are ……

• colourful popsicle sticks + liquid glue
• Construction papers + scissors + glue
• Crayons/markers

4) If the house is made, ask these questions to your child.

Where do you want to live with our family?

Where do you want our house?

In the city? In the countryside? 

Near the mountain? Near the sea?

5) Let your child fill the background of the family house.

Through this activity, your child will

✦ Dream of good family life in the future

A good family bond can be a strong foundation for children in their life and that’s why I encourage you to try this activity with your child this week.🙂
