Help The Letter Fairy

*Mini Class video coming at the end

A letter monster is something that I like to use to play a letter game with children. The letter monster loves letters so you have to find letters and give them to the monster. 😁

For this week, I wanted to give you a letter activity but I wanted a fun, hands-on one for our little children.

This week’s activity is a letter activity designed for toddlers and preschoolers, with the goal of having fun with letters. 🔡

Help The Letter Fairy

(Yes, did you notice? I’m using a “fairy” this time, not the “monster”. Haha 😆

SET 1

Materials

  • Under-cooked spaghetti
  • Food colourings (2)
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Oil (any type)
  • Small containers
  • Letter beads
  • Kitchen tools (spoon/fork/ladle etc.)

How To

  • Colour the spaghetti.

Put the half of under-cooked spaghetti in a container.

Put a few drops of food colouring and a few drops of hand sanitizer on spaghetti.

Put the lid on the container and let your child shake the container.

  • Coat the spaghetti and dry.

Coat the spaghetti with a few drops of oil. I used grape-seed oil but you can use any kind of oil you have at home.

Spread the spaghetti on a baking sheet and dry it for about 10 minutes.

  • Do the colouring step with the other half of spaghetti, using different colour of food colouring.
  • Put the two batches of spaghetti in different containers.
  • Hide letter beads inside the spaghetti and bring the letter fairy.
  • Give different kitchen tools to your child and let her/him pick up the letter beads for the letter fairy. (I also added a tweezer for fun.🙃)
