Do you have a holiday in November in your country?
There is “Remembrance Day” in November in Canada. It’s an important day to talk about but it’s not a day to have fun. 😶
You know, it’s not like Halloween in October or Christmas Day in December.
So I decided to choose a day in November and make it a special day.
In Korea – where I grew up, November 11 is celebrated as a “Bbae-bbae-roh Day”. “Bbae-bbae-roh” is the name of stick crackers and people exchange that crackers on “Bbae-bbae-roh Day”. The day is on November 11 because 11/11 looks like sticks.
😂I know, it’s funny.
But I think it’s a fun culture. Making another reason to express my love for people around me!
So I got an idea from this “Bbae-bbae-roh Day” and decided to celebrate 11/11 as a “Stick Day”. Hehe 😆
See how I made the “Stick Day” and celebrated it.
Even if you are reading this post after 11/11, don’t worry! It’s not late until the end of November (11)! 😄
Making Stick Dolls
Materials
- Popsicle sticks
- Markers
- Yarn
- Glue

How To
Start with drawing a face on the top of popsicle stick.
Encourage your child to think about the person that s/he is making. Think about eyes, mouth, facial expressions, hair style etc.
Decorate the body with yarn.
Children can wrap the popsicle stick with yarn. Just glue the end.
TIP: If wrapping around with yarn is tricky for your child, s/he can try wrapping a pipe cleaner around the popsicle stick.

If your child wants to add more materials like buttons, glitters or pieces of papers, add them.
Make stick dolls for all of your family members.

Give the stick doll to each member and sing the song 🎵(the song from video).
It’s always nice to be reminded of family love.
Celebrate the “Stick Day” with me and let your child be filled with family love. 💙
Happy learning and quality time!
