Book “The Kissing Hand” by Audrey Penn
We are using this famous book for today’s quality time.
The book itself has beautiful messages about how normal it is to feel scared of doing new things, how hard it is to be separated from mom and how mom and child can be connected all the time.
But in addition to these beautiful messages from the author Audrey Penn, I have some more points that I would like you to talk about with your child.
Why did the racoon Chester cry in the first scene? —> Understanding emotions
How was your school experience? —> Learning about your child
What was Chester’s reaction about the kissing hand? —> Learning the growth mindset
Do you think Mrs.Racoon liked the kissing hand? —> Understanding emotions and developing social emotional skills
Did you have any experience like that? —> Developing self-esteem and growth mindset
I talk about these questions and more in details in the episode 69.
Play the episode and get ready to use this great book with your child over and over again. (Because I give a lot of points to think about and discuss about, you can come back to this book many times and learn different things!)
Mindful Moments around the story of this book are coming!
I’ll be making them over the next week and they will be ready to be purchased in 2 weeks. If you love this book and go deeper with it for your child and for yourself, stay tuned.😊
Happy learning and quality time!
